What Can Dogs Not Eat?
you may ask yourself what can dogs not eat?
There are many foods that can be fatal to dogs!
Have you ever thought of tossing some of your snacks to your dog? If you have, it may come as a shock to you that some of the food that you may be feeding your dog could be fatal. Though snacks may be edible for human beings, it may not necessarily be edible for your pet dog. In fact, there are a number of food items that are dangerous for your dog. One such food is Guacamole. No matter how tasty avocado (the key ingredient in Guacamole) may be, it is not something that your dog should sink its teeth into. Avocados have persin, a substance which can be poisonous to dogs.
Instead of always feeding biscuits, many dog owners add variety by using grapes and raisins as treats for their pets. However, this is not a good idea. Just a few grapes or raisins can make your pet sick. In fact, over consumption of grapes and raisins can lead to kidney failure too. Although we all love chewing candy and gum, they are not food items that can be popped into your dog’s mouth from time to time. One of the substances that candy and gum have is xylitol, which increases the amount of insulin in a dog’s body. This reduces the blood sugar in your dog, which ultimately leads to liver failure.
So, food that you find delightful may not necessarily be so for a dog. A human digestive system is different than a dog’s. So, take time to understand food items that may be harmful to your dog and save yourself a trip to the veterinarian.
