Most dog owners feed kibbles or canned foods. There is another dog food choice that exists in the form of freeze dried food. It is quiet expensive, but this freeze-dried dog food offers convenience and high-quality choices to the dog owner.
Freeze dried dog food is made by taking fresh or sometimes cooked foods then these foods are flash frozen and their moisture removed by evaporating the ice at temperatures of below -40 degrees Fahrenheit. This essentially frozen fresh food is then packaged in air tight containers and stored in the refrigerator.
Freeze dried foods are usually available as patties or as a loose mix. These foods can be mixed with traditional dog food, or be fed alone. Small patties can also serve as a treat.
Advantages of a freeze dried dog food is that it has more nutrients such as amino acids and enzymes compared to a commercial dry foods and it is also easy to store. It is also highly palatable that most of the dogs love it. This is also best for dogs who are choosy eaters, and it is not subject to mold and spoilage.
Freeze dried dog food will also last for a very long time. Since there is no water, most likely bacteria cannot grow on it. When you’re done giving your dog the food, push the remaining air out of the bag and seal it. Most freeze dried food lasts a year or more depending on the other ingredients contained in the dog food.
There are many dog food brands available as freeze dried dog foods. Each claims to use only the finest ingredients, but it is up to you to make sure where their meat source comes from. Freeze dried dog food that contains a higher nutritional content, comes with a significantly higher price tag.
