Yes they can eat green peppers. In fact, green peppers are a good source of vitamin C and Beta Carotene. It is also rich in lycopene which prevents cancer. Green pepper is also safe for your dog as long as you will serve them with some precautions in mind. One of them is asking your vet first if your dog can eat them. The next thing you need to do is serve your dog in smaller amounts at first in order to observe if there will be any allergic reaction to green pepper. Some dogs are allergic to certain vegetables and introducing small amounts of it can decrease the fatal effects of any allergic reaction that can be triggered.
Dogs may have a hard time digesting green peppers and can cause some GI upset. Compared to humans, dogs have a shorter digestive tract which makes their digestion a lot slower. It might be best if you will use a food processor or cut the green peppers into smaller pieces and add it to your dog’s meal. Be careful not to serve it more than the recommended daily servings. Too much green pepper can also have negative effect especially on your dog’s stomach.
